about tess

I've been into mountain biking since 2014. My husband and several of our friends were mountain bikers and when the FOMO became too much to bear, I decided to start riding too.
Mountain biking hasn't come easily to me. I'm not a natural and I came to this sport with a pretty low "fear ceiling." Time and some carefully practiced skills have helped me push my limits as a rider. The more my riding improves, the bigger the grin on my face as I blaze down the singletrack. I've come a long way and I've got a long way to go but I'm not afraid to get out there and get dusty.
I love riding with the guys and I do plenty of it, but there's something special about hitting the trails with other women. Connecting with other female mountain bikers is inspiring, confidence building and fun. I started Dusty Betty as a way to connect with other female riders and hopefully inspire more women to get into the sport. If I can do it, you can do it!
I travel the country full time with my husband, Steve, and our dog, Fender. We live in an Airstream travel trailer and follow the seasons so we can ride year round. Learn more about our travels at themoreweexplore.com . Finding new trails and new friends to ride them with is the best part of this crazy adventure. Note: dusty dudes also welcome.
