While in Tennessee, my friend Rosa took me out for my first ride on a single speed. I learned a lot . It's one thing to know you should lay off the breaks to maintain your momentum and use your energy wisely but there's something about hopping on a single speed that really drives the point home. I exceeded my worst expectations on this ride and I can definitely see the appeal of having one of these around to train on. Too bad I don't have room for one more bike in the van. *sigh*
Keep in mind that I'm still pretty new to bikes and all the techy lingo. Sometimes I lack the experience, knowledge and vocabulary to describe what I'm feeling when I try a new bike. This stuff can be overwhelming, but I'm not going to let that stop me trying new things and learning new skills and neither should you.
